From what I have seen on American Reddit forums, there are still schools that teach the highly debunked myth of the Lost Cause. One of the things I would propose to have an effect on future generations would be to actually teach the children about the Reconstruction period, which according to some research I did, is deliberately omitted on school because it's the uncomfortable history of America and teachers have complained on it not being taught.
