You know that I respect you, Richard, but what's your point? Actually, the recent James Hansen et.al. paper on climate change includes the C3S data: global ave. surface temps have increased 0.4 degC in just the past 2 yrs., so 0.2 degC annually, which takes us to the very troubling 3 degC increase over the 1991-2020 baseline by 2032 and the existential 6 degC by 2047, the year that any child unfortunate enough to be born today turns 22, or not. Davos us disgusting. To save the potential children otherwise being born daily, 108,000 net, we can join the prescient American 18-50 yo's who have sworn off reproducing, according to a recent PEW Survey. As for the Mad King Tramp and his Muskrat, with his MAGATS, they may just be a lost cause, like the lemmings pouring by the millions into the oceans when their numbers become unsustainable. How very selfish of humans for not considering the future we've created for our offspring, or not. Have a blessed evening.

Thank you

'It Can't Happen Here' was a book written in the 1930s by Sinclair Lewis. I listened to the audio drama and it is frighteningly close to current USA. 'Death of Grass' a book written in the 1950s by John Christopher I think could also be prophetic. I listened to the audio which is also good.

I feel such grief and mourning for the people in my life who will never be ready for this. Their suffering will be harsh. As will my own. And it sucks.

Excellent analysis as always.

I might be worth adding the impact of AI and robotics into this Malthusian world view. It seems clear that privatised prisons are designed to do the labour that illegal immigrants have been doing. And likewise, blue and white collar jobs will be annihilated by AI and robotics, reducing the need for serfs even further.

This is all very ‘end-game’ stuff. It might even be self-fulfilling.

Your consideration of V, for Vendetta is most appropriate. If somehow the underclass ever do get any sway over events (debatable), their justice is likely to be unforgiving

Anyone having a child now anywhere in the world is utterly and incomprehensibly out of touch with reality. To willingly expose those children to future, very likely, suffering is truly awful.

Chris Hedges brings this up to date. On February 7, 2025, he published this article: “The Empire Self-Destructs”. https://scheerpost.com/2025/02/08/chris-hedges-the-empire-self-destructs/ A audio presentation is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYkXGc4opls&t=142s. A MR. FISH political cartoon tops the article. Hedges says, “I spent two years researching and writing about the warped ideologues of those who have now seized power in my book “American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America.” Read it while you still can. Seriously.” He ends the article with this prediction: “The array of tools used for global dominance — wholesale surveillance, the evisceration of civil liberties including due process, torture, militarized police, the massive prison system, militarized drones and satellites — will be employed against a restive and enraged population. The devouring of the carcass of the empire to feed the outsized greed and egos of these scavengers presages a new dark age.”

Hedges was a war correspondent, the head of the Middle East Bureau for the New York Times, and a Pulitzer prize winner. He also has a Divinity degree from Harvard and has been a pastor to several congregations. He publishes on substack, Scheer Post, and YouTube.

Hi Richard, you are right but not on the gender ideology issue. Transcactivism has been aggressively pushed and funded, even by Republicans, for tactical reasons. A man cannot, of course, become a woman. And vulnerable young people have been coerced into lucrative surgery and life-long drugs. If this hadn't been accepted, without question, by most we wouldn't have the sickening sight of Trump, surrounded by women and girls, being portrayed as a hero for doing the common sense thing of banning men from women's sport.

The V is for Vendetta has also been utilised by MAGAts and UK Reformers, riding on the back of the ridiculous and harmful 'covid' measures and jabs, enforced in an authoritarian way, 'medical freedom' sees itself as the hero. It helped to get RFk and Trump elected, although they are, of course, completely compromised by Big Pharma.

This is not why Trump got into power. This is so tone deaf.

'Why' Trump got into power? Why was that? The 'covid' and 'trans' issues certainly helped his popularity - are you denying that?

you've got some kooky ideas there Jo and you have adopted a conspiracy theorist's mindset. We as trans people are very much not to blame for how we are persecuted. You have allowed yourself to be tricked by RW propaganda insisting we are . As for your covid denialism i just have to sigh and pinch my brow. Don't be a fool.

Jo Waller's avatar

Hello Rachel C, I don't know why you think I'm blaming trans people for how you are being persecuted. How does this persecution manifest itself? How does the blame manifest itself? We, as men and women who don't identify as the opposite sex, are happy for you to identify anyway you wish, as a cat, teapot or victim. But this identity, or fiction, should not require me by law to acknowledge it against the evidence of my eyes, nor should it allow men into women's and girl's protected spaces (or into catteries).

As for your 'covid' gullibility. I'm a scientist who's looked at the evidence and I just have to sigh and pinch my brow at people who haven't or don't have the skills to. Don't be a fool of big pharma, you don't need life-long drugs, surgery nor vaccines to be who you already are or to be healthy.

Something tells me you haven’t ever interacted with a trans person. Sometimes outrage can be tempting but I assure you we are not your enemy nor do we deserve your condescension. Please have some compassion Jo, you’re coming across like someone who will rant about “globalists”

Expand full comment
Jo Waller's avatar

I wasn’t condescending nor do I think you’re my enemy, so long as men stay out of women’s sports and spaces. I know that people, who are also ‘covid’ dissenters rant about ‘globalists’. That doesn’t mean that my assessments and views are not the correct ones. Smearing a person as a conspiracy theorist is sloppy thinking. Yes, conspiracy theories are also used by industry to claim that climate change is a hoax. But I am capable of noticing it. And I’ve written extensively about the targeting that they use. What has this got to do with not having compassion?

Expand full comment
Rachel C's avatar

Yes dogma this pharma that… have you seen someone die of covid before?

Wrt transness, of course you are condescending to me! “Identify any way you wish… as a victim”. You’re also calling me a man through your dog whistle. I don’t really mind though because I’m going to continue on with my life knowing that there is a lot of sympathy out there for me. And by the way- a very good (trans woman) friend of mine plays women’s hockey and is valued by her teammates and causes no controversy. With your scientific mind why not appraise this recent BMJ paper-

https://bjsm.bmj.com/content/58/11/586

Or is this too pharma dogma for you?

The way you speak makes me think that you’re a little bit too confident in yourself. I also find it curious that you have engaged with me, an easier target with skin in the game, than with the (presumably male) commenter Chris who has also challenged you. Do I personally offend you?

You are falling hook line and sinker for the Red/Blue Left/Right billionaire oligarch BS media propaganda machine. The corrupt politicians work together and create identity politics together.

They then have the normie retards squarely blaming the immigrants and also blaming the gender benders for their country financially circling the drain. Stupid normies then demand that Trump fixes the "problem". So long as the immigrants and the woke crowd are blamed, the normie retards then do not demand tax reform and do not demand that the wealth inequality problem be rectified.

The lefties under Biden were stupid. The corrupt Biden regime gave the left all the rope that they freely took, so that Trump could then hang them. Both sides of politics work together. Under Biden the Left should have remained silent.

Trump however is doing what he is doing so as to urgently prevent an imminent US treasury and bond crisis. Settlement has now shifted to London whilst the Bank of England also avoids a gold crisis (they cannot now settle the paper demands for physical). The 50-year rigging of the gold and silver markets is now at risk because of the mess in Ukraine. 10 trillion of already securitized arable land, rare minerals, water and energy assets have just been taken by the Russian General Staff (who are running the war, not Putin) and these "assets" are never ever coming back into the hands of the City of London traders.

The Tariff freak show is simply about the money. The middle class is broke, the welfare class does not pay tax and the oligarch class refuse to pay tax and have the corrupt politicians in their pockets. The only available option therefore to raise money, to avoid a bond and currency crisis, is via excise and import tariffs. Trump cannot print anymore, because the rest of the world is fast reducing their USD and UST holdings, including China. BRICS is winning.

USA is fast running out of options and AIPAC's mistake was hitching their cart onto the USA. It helped Israel in the short term, but in the long term USA is financially finished and cannot meaningfully support Israel any longer. This last ditch fundraising and cost cutting YOLO by Trump cannot fix the underlying problem of too much debt and a sick population, failed infrastructure and no money to fix it.

As for the Afrikaners, I do business with them in SA. The Afrikaners get along fine with the ANC Communists. Trump was just trying to screw over the ANC for putting on that recent International Criminal Court case, that declared Israel as a pack of genocidal war criminals. The Afrikaners grow almost all the food in SA. The Afrikaners have already told Trump (and his Israeli handlers) to go and get stuffed. They are not leaving SA and the Afrikaners are now at one with the ANC. Another Trump fail.

Or even worse, the color of our skin is the same as theirs? Truly horror upon horrors that one.
